What are Career Paths?

Career paths are lab collections that have been grouped together to take a user from a beginner to advanced level in a specific profession, such as a Secure Python Developer.

As an Organization Manager or Team Manager, you can assign career paths to your organization or team(s) to target them with content that is relevant.

You can update these Career Paths at anytime by adding or deleting the collection of labs that comprise the Custom Career Path, ensuring that the Career Paths are always effectively meeting your organization's requirements.

Creating a New Custom Career Path

To Create a new Custom Career Path:

1. From the top navigation menu, select Manage > Custom Career Paths.
2. From the Custom Career Paths page, click Create New from the top right of the page.
3. From the Details page, enter a Title and a Description for the new Custom Career Path. Additionally, you can upload an image to replace the default image.
   
   
   
   
4. Click Save and continue.

Next you will select which lab collections will be included in this Custom Career Path.

To add lab collections to the new career path:

1. Scroll through the available Lab Collections or use the Search bar to find the specific lab collection.
2. Select the lab collection that you want to add to your custom career path and then click Add:
   
   
   
   Note that the Add button changes to a Remove button, which allows you to remove this collection from the custom career path if necessary.
3. Continue adding lab collections to complete the custom career path.
4. From the Review step, you can either save the Custom Career Path as a draft - meaning that it will not yet be published and cannot be assigned to users - or Publish the career path.
   
   
   
   
5. Once the new Custom Career Path has been published, you can now assign the Career Path. For more information on assigning career paths see: Assigning Lab Collections and Career Paths.
   
   
   
   

Editing a Custom Career Path

You can edit the details of a custom career path (name, description, cover image) and the lab collections that comprise the career path.

To edit a custom career path:

1. Navigate to Manage > Custom Career Paths from the top navigation menu.
2. Select the career path that you want to edit.
3. From the career path page, select the three dots (...) icon at the top of the page and then select Edit Career Path from the drop-down list.
   
   
   
   
4. From the Details page, you can edit the Title, Description, or Cover image of the scenario. 
5. Click Next to review and/or edit the lab collections associated with this career path.
6. From the Select Collections page, you can select additional collections to add to the career path, or click Edit Collections at the top of the page, which will allow you to remove already added collections from the career path.
7. Once you are done editing the career path click Publish to re-publish the career path with your changes.

Deleting a Custom Career Path

You can delete a custom career path, which will remove it from the career path catalog.

To delete a custom career path:

1. Navigate to Manage > Custom Career Paths from the top navigation menu.
2. Select the career path that you want to edit.
3. From the career path page, select the three dots (...) icon at the top of the page and then select Delete from the drop-down list.
4. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the career path. Click Delete to confirm.

Assigning a Custom Career Path

To assign a custom career path, click the Assign button from the career path page of a published career path.
