What does an Immersive Certification signify, and what can it be used for?

An Immersive Certification provides an additional mechanism for learners to track, share, and celebrate their point-in-time completion of our more popular Immersive career paths. It provides a more detailed record of their career path learning than is currently possible with badges alone. It signifies your successful participation in and completion of the specified Immersive career path content at the stated point in time.

How long is the Immersive Certification valid for?

To ensure you stay up to date with the evolving nature of cybersecurity, we regularly update both individual labs and our broader career path content. As such, this certificate represents completion at the stated point in time. Cybersecurity remains a rapidly evolving sector, and we strongly recommend that you regularly review career path content so that if additional labs or lab collections are added to a career path, your knowledge will always be up-to-date.

Why can’t I have an Immersive Certification for all Immersive career paths?

As an initial trial, we’ve only released this new functionality on a selection of our most popular career paths. We may expand our Immersive Certifications to other career paths in the future.

Why can’t I have a certificate for custom career paths?

We’ve focused the initial Immersive Certifications on our most popular existing Immersive career paths. We may expand this functionality to custom career paths in the future, although there are likely to be some differences in functionality between Immersive certifications and certificates provided for custom career paths if this were to occur.

If I’ve already completed a career path, can I still download an Immersive Certification?

Yes! If you have already completed one of the listed career paths, you’ll be able to download an Immersive Certification to demonstrate this. You can find this in the Achievements area of the platform, which can be accessed by selecting Upskill - Achievements and then selecting the relevant completed career path. Here you will find a link to download the certificate.

What happens if the career path content changes after I’ve downloaded my Immersive Certification?

If new labs or lab collections are added to a career path after you’ve completed it, this career path will no longer show as completed. You won’t be able to download a new Immersive Certification until you complete the additional content.

Although any certificates that you previously downloaded will be unaffected, they represent career path completion only at the date stated on the certificate. Because cybersecurity is such a rapidly evolving sector, we strongly advise that you complete any new content added to update your knowledge. Then you can download an updated certificate.

Can I be sent a printed copy of my Immersive Certification?

No, we don’t provide printed copies of certificates.

How do I access Immersive Certifications?

If a specific Immersive career path provides an Immersive Certification, you can download this directly from the career path completion screen by selecting “Download Certificate”. The career path description will also state that an Immersive Certification is available with this career path.

When you complete a career path that provides an Immersive Certification, you’ll also receive an in-platform notification that a certificate is available to download. This will appear within the bell icon at the top right of the screen.

As a manager, can I download an Immersive Certification for my team members?

Only individual learners can download certificates.

As a manager, can I view a list of who has an Immersive Certification?

At this time, there’s no manager reporting related to Immersive Certifications. This feature is designed solely for learners to download a more detailed record of their career path learning than is currently possible with badges alone.
