Understanding the Scenario Overview
The Scenario Overview is the first screen you'll see after naming a new scenario. It acts as a central hub, giving you a quick summary of the scenario's key details and allowing you to input and amend core information.
What you'll find on the Scenario Overview:
- Scenario Image: You can upload an optional image to represent the scenario in the catalog.
Note: The ability to resize and crop images has now been removed from the platform. We advise using a third-party tool to edit the size of the image, before uploading it into your scenario.
Below, are the requirements for an image to be successfully uploaded:
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9
- Max File Size: 5mb
- Minimum Image Resolution: 1200 x 675 px
- Scenario Structure Visualization: A small visual map of your scenario's flow. This map updates automatically in real-time as you build in the Tree View, providing an always-current snapshot of your scenario's design.
- Scenario Context: Essential details about the simulation, including the Industry (e.g., Finance), Threat Actor (e.g., Nation State), and Attack Vector (e.g., Phishing).
- Briefing Information: A summary of the scenario's briefing, which automatically updates when changes are made to the briefing copy in the Tree View.
- Translation Languages: This is where you select the languages you want your scenario to be translated into before you publish it.
Navigating Back to the Overview
You can easily return to the Scenario Overview at any time by using the back arrow in the top navigation bar.
Building Your Scenario in the Redesigned Tree View
The Tree View is now the primary method for creating your scenarios and has been redesigned for easier building.
How to Build in Tree View
- Start Nodes: When creating a new scenario, you'll start with an Overview node (the home of the briefing and roles for your scenario, and key takeaways for Workforce scenarios).
- Add and Connect Elements: Use the builder tool bar to easily create new injects and interludes.
- Connecting Inject to Option: To create a new child option branching from an inject, click the blue plus button below the inject.
- Connecting Option to Inject/Interlude: To link an option to the next part of the scenario, click the transparent plus button underneath the option. A small toolbar will appear—select to create an interlude or an inject.
- Rearrange: You can break connections between nodes to rearrange them and re-link them as needed. All changes save automatically.
Deleting and Reconnecting Connections
- Disconnecting: To break a connection between an option and the next inject or interlude, highlight the connecting line between the two elements and select the red cross button to delete the connection.
- Reconnecting: To connect an option to a different inject or interlude, hover over the small grey circle at the bottom of the option element. Drag your mouse to generate a connecting line and connect it to the desired element.
Viewing and Editing Element Details
To view or edit the full information for any inject or interlude, simply click on the element in the Tree View. A pane will appear on the right side of the screen with two tabs:
- Details Tab: Update the title, description, and for injects, add the role and media attachments. You can also preview the element in isolation, duplicate it, or delete it from here.
- Options Tab: For injects, this tab shows a list of all options branching off the inject. You can easily reorder options by dragging and dropping them in this list.
The view or edit the full information for an option, simply click on the node in the Tree View. A pane will appear on the right side of the screen with the title and description of the option selected, as well as showing which inject or interlude it then links to.
Using List View
The List View is now an alternate view you can switch to from the builder tool bar in the Tree View. This view lists the injects in the order they will be experienced during the scenario playback, with their child options indented underneath.
Managing Global Settings and Pre-Publish Checks
The new Global Settings area and pre-publish checks help ensure your scenario is ready before publication.
Global Settings
You can find the scenario's Global Settings on the top navigation bar. Here you can toggle the following simulation features on or off:
- Option ranking
- Response confidence
- Response justification
- Feedback
- Performance indicators
Once a setting is toggled on, you'll be able to see and edit the corresponding fields on an inject and option basis.
Incomplete Fields Count
You can choose to show the count of "Incomplete fields" on the navigation bar. This feature highlights all places in your scenario where missing required information is preventing you from publishing.
Required fields for publication include:
- Briefing
- Scenario context drop-downs (Industry, Threat Actor, Attack Vector)
- At least one role
- Title and description fields for all injects, interludes, and options
- Text or number fields for any toggled global settings
Full Scenario Preview: You can preview the entire scenario from the top navigation bar, choosing either single player or presentation modes.
Finalizing and Publishing Your Scenario
When you're ready to publish, the final button you see (Publish or Finish) will depend on your translation choices on the Scenario Overview page:
- If you did not select auto-translations, you'll see the Publish button.
- If you did select auto-translations, you'll see the Finish button.
Clicking either button will show you if any required fields are still missing. Once all incomplete fields are resolved, the final Publish button will appear, allowing you to publish your scenario and proceed to the translations page.
