This guide walks Organization Administrators through configuring the Integration for AI Knowledge Pass to grant access once a user has proven skill by completing the assigned program and obtaining the certificate of completion.
Prerequisites
- Okta admin access to your organization's Okta tenant
- Admin access to Immersive One
- Tenant URL for the Okta instance, API Key to allow provisioning of users
Overview
AI Knowledge Pass now connects directly to Okta, so access to enterprise AI tools is provisioned automatically based on verified competency—no manual IT step required other than having set up groups in Okta. This guide covers connecting Okta as your identity provider. Once configured, users of the platform will be granted group-based access to AI tools once they complete a Deployment for an AI Knowledge Pass Program that they have been assigned.
Step 1: Create an Okta API token
- In your Okta Admin Console, go to Security > API
- Click Tokens
- Choose Create Token
- Enter a name for the token
- Choose Any IP for the API calls origin
- Copy the generated token for later
Step 2: Enter Okta Details in Immersive One
- Log in to Immersive One as an admin.
- Navigate to Launchpad, open your AI Knowledge Pass Goal, and go to Identity Provider > Okta.
- Add the Tenant Url for your Okta instance alongside the API Key you generated to the set up form for the Okta Integration.
- You will be on the details and action view page, Create an Action by clicking the “Create action” button
- Select the AI Knowledge Pass Program that will be the trigger. Select the action “Add users to group”, and lastly search for the group you wish users to be added to in Okta once the AI Knowledge Pass Program Deployment has been completed.
- Once this is done, users should get added to the group of your choice once a Deployment for that AI Knowledge Pass Program has been completed by assigned participants.
Errors
If you are not seeing users getting provisioned as expected there may be errors with the action. On the Okta page you will see a view button on the Errors column of the table if Immersive has been trying to unsuccessfully provision users.
Click on the View button to see issues.
A slide out will appear with the error.
You will be able to retry failed actions for users here as needed. Note that this may not solve the problem. The error message will indicate what the issue is.
Supported Features
- User provisioning via group-based access to AI tools once they complete a Deployment for an AI Knowledge Pass Program that they have been assigned.
Not Yet Supported
- Multiple Okta organizations per AI Knowledge Pass tenant
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Likely Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Can’t create an Okta Integration | The Tenant URL provided or the API Key provided isn’t correct. | Check in Okta that both the URL and the generated API Key are correct. |
| Nothing is showing up in Groups when trying to select one | This fetches the group data from your Okta instance, it’s likely the API Key or the Tenant URL provided is no longer correct | check that the Tenant URL and API Key provided from Okta is correct. |
