AI Assistant Integration for Cyber Ranges (MCP Server)
Release date: November 3rd, 2026
We've released the immersive Cyber Ranges MCP server. It connects AI assistants like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and VS Code directly to a customer's Cyber Ranges account. Range authors can now build and manage ranges by asking their assistant in plain language, without clicking through the dashboard.
What does it do? It covers everything the Cyber Ranges dashboard can do, with 88 tools. For example:
• Creating and publishing scenarios, briefings and walkthroughs
• Managing flags in bulk, including answers, hints and MITRE ATT&CK tags
• Building lab networks: subnets, firewall rules, systems, IPs and DNS
• Launching, powering and snapshotting labs, and saving them as templates
• Issuing VPN configs and SSH keys, so an agent can get inside the machines and set up the environment
• Running live events, teams and scoreboards
A customer can ask, for example: "In my AD Lab, add a DMZ subnet on 10.10.5.0/24 that only accepts TCP 80 and 443 from the attacker subnet, then add an Ubuntu web server on it." The assistant does the rest.
It signs in with the customer's own login, so it only has their permissions. A read-only mode lets customers look around safely before changing anything.
Who is this for? Cyber Ranges customers who build their own ranges and exercises, especially technical teams already using AI coding assistants.
Good to know
• It's open source and community-supported. Bugs and feature requests should go to GitHub issues, not the support queue.
• It uses the same API the dashboard does.
• Launching or powering labs costs money and counts against the customer's lab limit, just as it does in the dashboard.
